The basketball player of the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry, the footballer Lionel Messi, the tennis players Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams and the athlete in the free fighting Rhonda Rosie became the big winners of the ESPY Awards (annual awards for high sporting achievements), equivalent to the Oscars and the Grammys musical film.
Curry won in two categories - 'best athlete` and 'the best player in the NBA`. Rhonda Rosie also took home two awards for 'best athlete` and 'best fighte`.
Messi took the prize for 'best foreign racer`, and Djokovic and Serena emerged triumphant as the best tennis players, male and female respectively.
The award for 'coach of the year` was gotten by Steve Kerr, who, in his debut season out the Golden State to the title in the NBA. 'The best team` became the national football team of the United States women, who the day before won the world title.
